"I purchased this oil on canvas painting from a small art gallery. The varnish was discoloured due to its age (19th century), and there were some fine-line cracks on the young man's face and in the background.

Ohlenschlager & Rice treated the painting with extreme care, and sympathetically cleaned and restored it.

The restoration has revealed so much more detail - for instance, highlights in the hair and clothing were brought to light - and I am absolutely thrilled with the finished result."
